Hello all, I am new to all this and I am sorry ahead if this has been disscused. I have seen a lot of 08 ECM questions but nothing about the Daytona Twin Tech. Has anyone tried this product or have any recomendations. I have seen the Direct Link talk but there is no Buell dealer around me that I would trust taking it to. Thanks.

I have the TwinTek on my race bike. Seems to work quite well. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper than the Direct Link. If you don't trust your dealer with the Direct Link the TwinTek isn't going to be much better. It still has to be dynoed.

What is on your race bike. I have the Buell Race pipe my brother gave me that has been sitting for 3 months because of the ECM. Is that Twin Tech okay for little mods like that and is yours the whole Twin Tech ECM or does yours work with the ecm

I have the Micron full system on my race bike, and that is all I have done. The tuner is hooked up to piggyback the stock ECM like a Power Commander. It can be made to work with any type of modifications, but you need a good dyno tuner to make it work right. With a proper tune I was able to get 80hp/59lbft at the rear wheel on a basically stock 9R motor. It also smoothed the throttle response and flattened the torque curve across the board.

Artic_12_R,
Hals's has helped develop the Twin Tech for the Buells. We have installed a unit on the '08's and it works fine. You will need to have it Dyno'd after the install. Currently, the Twin Tech is the only option available if you are using an after-market exhaust. Give me a call at 262-814-8685 and we can go over it.
Thanks,
BudC

Twin Tuner

Dave,
The Buell Twin Tuner is a fuel management device that plugs into the stock ECU. The tuner interrupts the signal to the injectors to either increase or decrease the amount of fuel delivered depending upon the engine and throttle requirements. That's simplified, of course, but pretty much it. We have used them on street bikes as well as race bikes (I currently ride/race a 2004 XB12S producing 95.5 RWHP and all I use is the Twin Tec). Hopefully that helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Bud, let me get this straight, there's no TPS reset done on the 08's when adding a race kit, so this is the step that replaces the TPS reset? And you need a Dyno tune?

There is no "race kit" for the '08s, nor any race ECM.
