No, my bike is running fine, this is more of an idea :P. I noticed that some of the new 09 harleys actually run on one cylinder when sitting at a dead stop. This helps cool the motor when in traffic, and keeps it from overheating. I wonder if it would be possible to do this on our bikes. It would help out alot with roasting our legs. | ||

It would work just fine....its only a matter of programming the ECM to do it. | ||

Interesting concept. I wonder if that is why the stock idle is lumpy. There's a bunch of us with ecmspy that work at smoothing out the idle making both cyclinders fire equally well. | ||

I wonder if it would be possible to do this on our bikes. It would help out alot with roasting our legs. HD's will shut off one cylinder when the engine starts to get too hot. It won't do this on an engine that's operating within parameters. I wonder if that is why the stock idle is lumpy. The idle is lumpy because there are 2 cylinders firing in a common crank pin, 45 degree v-twin. If they only ran on one, it would sound like a Blast. |
