This question goes out to anyone in here who has had a bike totaled. Did the give you book value for it when they deemed it totaled? |

I got well over book, make sure you point out all aftermarket accessories. Also make sure you tell them you want all your safety gear replaced as well. |

Cool. I've never had anything totaled before. I just don't want to get f@ck'd. |

The shop that did the estimate on my ZRX a few years ago got the company to pay for literally EVERYTHING on the bike that wasn't stock. Yoshimura pipe, Sargent seat, pegs, shocks and lord knows what else. When I saw their estimate, it was a thousand over book or thereabouts. On top of that, they had to pay for whatever gear got ruined as well. Helmet, jacket, gloves, boots. And those prices were as NEW, because there's no book value on that kind of stuff I believe (Even the accessories). But in answer to your question; Yes it should be book value not paid value in my experience. |
