I am trying to surprise my wife with a few upgrades to her bike which is a 2003 XB9S. I am wondering what exhaust I should look at for a louder sound than her race kit? I am also wondering if there is anyone with an scg that would like to trade suspension parts? My wife is a tad vertically challenged (5'3") and does very well with the current "S" but stopping and backing up are a little challenging. Any help is greatly appreciated! Paul

Just got rid of suspension parts but have a low seat, PM if interested. As for exhaust, I'm a die hard Drummer fan but you have to decide what type of sound your looking for.

IMHO Drummer all the way, sound is so sweet. I recommend reading the excellent "exhaust shootout" that reviews all XB exhaust options, I think there's a link on the main page. I have a blacked out Drummer SS on my 05 XB9SX.

I'm also under-tall and exchanged the select seat with an scg-low seat. I can't flat foot both feet at a stop but haven't had any problems doing the one foot down at stop thing. I think your wife won't have any issues with an XB once she gets comfortable on it and gains confidence over time.

Well the whole reason for the lower suspension is that about a month ago we were at a stop sign and she went to put her feet down there was a little bit of sand/gravel mix right under her and she ended up laying the bike over. The bike took it a lot better than my wife did (bruised ego is all). 4 police and a lot of questions-like have you been drinking-later we rode home. So I told her that I would look into a scg kit for her bike. Little did I realize that it was going to be a little more than we can afford right now so I was looking to trade. As for the exhaust I will look up the shootout and hopefully decide from there. Thanks for all the feedback Paul
