150+ mile range is just fine with me.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm more than ready to stop and stretch every 2-3 hours.

Would it be as reliable as my 74 Guzzi? Could it sit as low as the Guzzi?
I would consider it..... Why not a 750cc HD/Buell motor totally home wrenchable?
<sigh>....Even just a stripped down version of that bike with a 650cc single stroke engine??

To phrase it like court would...Thats incorrect.
you forgot the

plus he uses that when there are facts involved. I should have used the caveat, 'in my most humble opinion Dynasan'. Though, come to think of it, I don't think it's only 'my' opinion.
Just ask anonymoose (^^^^^^)

Don't get me wrong, I'd be one of the first in line for a vrxx Buell -- even a first year model. (d'oh) But, that's too many years off to wait that much longer (unless you've had some more sightings).

when there are facts involved

The fact is there are several Revo powered XB's out here in the woods. Anony hasnt even denied their existence, only stated they wouldnt be produced. Of course that could also mean they arent going to be produced this year.

is there a police sketch artist in the house?

let me know if I can help.

That's why I like hard bags -- throw my camera in there and don't leave the house without it.

CJ, you know all the foreigners think wisconsin is one giant forest dont you?

And compared to the S.E. portion of K-town, Racine & Milwaukee it actually is.

PS...head west & keep your eyes peeled, you know you can actually ride out to the East troy area any time. Seems like some folks only head out there every couple years when there is a Buell homecoming.

Look around & watch all the bikes very carefully. Take 83 up towards Hartland & pay close attention.
Have lunch at Martys or ride a little further & enjoy state street in Madison.

In the interest of science, I’ve created this preliminary sketch.

did have to stretch the frame about 35 pixels.
(which is an accurate statement).

remember any configuration specifics?

Thats a fine sketch! Of course the radiator may have to be a little more creative than that as the front wheel would surely put a nice gouge in it on its first big bump. Interesting food for thought nonetheless. other than the radiator, which could certainly find its way in there somehow, that looks workable. Of course its a shoehorn fit, but workable.

Rad should be under the rear seat with side scoops ala old model Speed Triples.

Turnagain... are you sure that vrod motor is to scale relative to the XB frame? I looked at both side by side, and the VRod motor looked a lot bigger then that relatively. Could have been a visual trick though.

unfortunately it's not to scale -- just eye-balled. was looking for a better picture of the motor, but had to resort to pulling it out of a bike photo. I'm sure José has something I could use.

it's all in fun anyway and actually I'm waiting for Buell to announce the first fuel cell powered bike with a 1000 mile range before refueling.
HEY!, if you're gonna dream, dream BIG!

"Does your twin hang low,
does it wobble to and fro,
as you wander through the twisties,
dodging ditches left and right."

Maybe just a little bit too much mass in the central location.

Yer killin' me Mikej!

No kiddin' though, you've got a point (IMHO) about too much mass. It may be able to be stuffed in, but, I'm not convinced it would be what we're after.

that's what's great about interactive scaling or maybe you could start with something like this (though it's not as visually pleasing)

Ever read one of those patents closely...I mean between the lines...constantly challenging, questioning and asking "why this...why that...why now?"

Ever wandered if there was such a thing as a "phantom patent" whereby a person, appearing to be protecting something, actually "embeds" the primary idea.

That's one big engine huh?

'said radiator'....'said plenum'....'said exhaust'.... said what?

never could get the images to work -- 'corrupted'.

I'm wondering if you put the radiator under the seat, would you have to move the passenger pegs to the swing arm too?
someone say eject!?

Court-

I'd read someplace that HD decided not to patent some deal with (I think) sorting through the psychotic pressure waves the ECU / MAP sensor need to deal with on the V-Rod. I read this was done so they wouldn't give the process or secrets away - and possibly spark an alternate development of the same concept.
