I knew i'd read about the broken lip at the throw out before.

It happened to us today.Broken lip at the pivot of the throwout. Now,i've been adjusting XL clutches since 1992 and i know mine was properly done.So why the failure?

My wife was riding it when it failed. We were 75 miles from home and i wasn't going back for a truck. She was frantic.Frantic also at the thought of riding the 996 home(she's never ridden it,and now it's got a wild engine).Funny, she went into the woods to avoid crapping her pants.

I rode the XB home without clutch, sorta ok.

So what's my best option now? I hope the primary cover is superceded with an improved version.YES??

Its cast which is a difficult metal to repair plus the surface area is very small to support the repair and the shape and location would be very difficult to attempt any repair. IMO you have one option available, to buy a new one...
