Buellinachinashop: (I kinda work with carbon stuff for a living) - you CAN waterjet carbon fiber and really do some nice looking stuff BUT the remaining thin sections of carbon fiber after the cut-out is going to be really brittle. The thing would have to be enlarged quite a bit so the remaining carbon would have enough strength to prevent it from busting. (though it WOULD look kinda cool, I have to admit) |

Y'know one thing - it MIGHT be possible to layup over the top surface of the aluminum BEFORE waterjet cutting. You'd get the strength of the aluminum and the LOOK of the carbon. It could work! |

Hey, if Viperman would be willing to cut them, I'll put a set of carbon skins on them. Be cool just to see how it'd look. I don't use heelguards on the racebike - but we have a few folks who I'm sure could "test ride" them. Actually, it'd be interesting to see how they'd hold up. I'd be afraid that the boot heels would kinda buff them away in a year... down to bare aluminum again. Could be cool just to try... |

I just got a set of CF heel gards about 2 months ago. They do scuff easy, but I haven't rubbed them down at all. The clear coat helps big time. |

I think Stainless is the way to go... My heel guards are worn to crap as well as some of my swingarm.. Not that I care too much, still looks like crap.. No matter what way you coat them, decent boots are going to wear it off. |

If you made them so that Pegasus was raised, then the boots couldn't wear the paint off. You know you're just being mean teasing us and not having any to sell. Hey, blue footpegs too, you are cruel!!! |
