Anybody else notice the black forks are available for purchase now on the buell website as an aftermarket item for the 05s and up? Also, it looks like the 8-pot caliper, as well as new brake line and master cylinder are available now too. http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=4&CategoryID=5&Produ ctID=4269 http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=4&CategoryID=7&Produ ctID=4262 |

If you're gonna pull the forks, it's real easy to paint the triples black. |

It's worth a shot. I don't see other manufacturers Nitrite coating there stuff and it looks cool! The issue is always $ !! I will have to look deeeeper in my effort to blacken out the entire bike! |

Ohlins has been doing that for a while too. As you stated, most people cannot, or will not pay that kind of money. Smokescreen |

The forks look great but thats a lot of cash for a color change! Unless you tape up the bike and paint them yourself. Might not be perfect, but with some elbow grease and 20 dollars worth of paint it can be done. |

it only cost me $150. $100 for the powder coating. $50 for parts. and a little bit of garage time. brian |

Have anybody consider anodizing, I believe will be much cheaper and a lot easier to install. |

Much cheaper? Definitely not. More of a pain in the ass? Definitely yes. I was going to anodize my forks but there is more to prepping the material than with powdercoating. I know I have looked into anodizing and was going to go that route and ended up powdercoating just about everything on the bike instead. I do have some stuff anodized but after time the anodized parts are starting to fade where as the powdercoated parts look as good as the day I had them done. I am much happier that I decided to go with powdercoat instead of anodizing. I know that LoneXB has just as much, if not more, parts blackened on his bike like mine. |
