Does anyone know if ECMSpy will work for the 08's? Has anyone tried with any success? I'd like to get a cable and download the program, but there's no point if it won't work. If you can't adjust the fuel maps, can you still reset the TPS? | ||

2008 models are not supported with EcmSpy, regardless, whether it might work with some or not. Regards, Gunter | ||

ECMspy WILL work on the early 08s. Not sure after what date it won't work. | ||

All 2008 models use DDFI III the newest version of Buell's FI system which DOES NOT perform like previous versions. I wouldn't mess with it until things are sorted out. There are enough issues many of us are having with the 2008's as it is. Tuning it yourself could be a big mistake should they make warranty changes during the year. | ||

'08 models the TPS resetting is accomplished without the need for a plug-in diagnostic tool: Have the Run/Stop button set to Run. Turn the ignition key to the On position but do not crank or start the engine. Open the throttle fully to the stop and hold it there for one second. Close the throttle fully to the stop and hold it there for one second. Repeat the throttle open/close procedure a total of three times in succession. Turn the ignition key to Off/On/Off/On/Off in succession to complete the procedure. | ||

Thanks Mr2shim! After I got home, I opened up the ol' 08 XB service manual and  there was the procedure for resetting the TPS! Just as you posted. The awesome thing is that when I called the local harley/buell/harley service manager, he told me that resetting the TPS is 1.5 hours worth of labor @ $87/hr. I thought rape was still illegal in TX. | ||

"I thought rape was still illegal in TX." ...Not Corporate Rape. That's still legal everywhere. Even though it can easily be done on an '08, I thought it wasn't necessary. Does anyone know what causes the need for a TPS reset on an '08? | ||

From what I understand, on the 08's the throttle is suppossed to zero it self upon every start up, hence no need for a TPS. 1.5 hrs for a TPS is BS. I think I'd tell them to AMF and GTFO of there ASAP! LOL | ||
