John is correct.
If you want me to get you added to the Denver Buell Club email list, PM me with the email address you want to use and I'll take care of it.
You will get copied on emails for group rides and club meetings. I just do the Sunday rides and an occasional monthly breakfast. There are also full weekend rides and loosely organized track days on occasion.
We have a wide variety of rider skills and speeds. |

One small request, if possible:
Anyone have a Firebolt service manual, preferably for an '06, they can bring to the tinker? I need to do my 20K service, and I haven't gotten around to picking one up.
Also, if someone can bring a spare cable, I can probably borrow the wife's laptop so that I have 2 on hand.
I'm really starting to get excited about Sunday- Hope to see you all then!

On blackberry now. Went to 8190 quebec, no dice, went south 100 or so blocks and quebec ended, riding home now. |

I drove by about 11:00.
I went North from 70 on Quebec about 5 miles and 8190 looked to be someone elses residence, next to a convenience store. I then drove south, past 1st a few miles thinking it would be down there, but Quebec ended way before 81 blocks south.
Maybe I did something stupid, I'm totally confused at this point. |

i was actually on quebec street, not quebec ave. if you were to take quebec north to the train tracks, bear left, yadda yadda. i had trouble finding it, too, but kept cruising around till i got there. you missed the beer and umbrella girls. great times |

I enjoyed meeting you all on Sunday, thanks for all your help, the bike's running great! I down-loaded ecmspy and now just need the cable, is there anybody selling complete cables? if not where can I get the parts to make one myself? Lets get together for a ride soon |

Hey,
I just bought a "recovered theft" 2005 Firebolt ... will be picking it up later this week. It needs some bodywork ... and it would be great to do a TPS reset with the latest, at some point.
I'd like to join in on a future gathering!
I'll add my name to the Denver Riders group ... currently ride '97 S1 Lightning ...

I copied this from Xopti's website, but the instructions should also be in the Tuning Guide on ecmspy.com:
PC Interface lead
To connect ECMSpy running on a PC to your bike you need a special lead. The ECU on the bike uses a TTL (5V) serial data port - NOT RS232. To connect to you PC you have to convert the TTL to RS232 data levels. There are several ways to do this
* Use a MAX232 level shifter chip and build up a little electronic circuit, powered from the PC RS232 COM port. If you do this use the MAX232E device as it is ESD protected.
* Use a FTDI interface lead, this connects to you USB port, emulates a RS232 COM port and provides 5V TTL signals direct.
FTDI Drivers
The required drivers can be found here:

The correct driver type is VCP. I assume you will need administrator rights to install the driver.

There's one trap: if the driver installation is interrupted after installing the USB driver (this is the first part of the driver installation), the virtual COM port driver has not been installed, but you will not get the usual "New device found ..." dialogue in windows if you unplug/replug the cable, and therefore never get asked to specify a location for the missing serial port driver. Best is, to deinstall the USB driver completely. Unplug the cable and replug after a few seconds. Then again follow the instructions from FTDI.
A very basic test could be done using hyper terminal (Start -> Run -> hypertrm.exe). Open a new session using the new virtual com port and (important!) set flow control to "none".
Then shorten the yellow (pin 3) and the orange (pin 1) wire using a straightened paper clip or something similar.
Every keypress in the hyperterm window should be echoed immediately. If not, check if flow control is disabled and you're using the correct port.

This is a Deutsch connector and very hard to get in ones, you have to be in the trade and buy 100+
