Is there a way to remove the header without rotating the engine? The front is no problem, but the rear bolts seem to be in a very tight place. I can't even get light in there to see them. Any help would be appreciated. The bike is an 05 XB12Scg, thanks!

maybe, but didn't have the tools this weekend for it.

maybe two of the ujoint things you use with a socket.

Even with the engine rotated I had to use one of them.

Getting the nuts back on is a hoot.

I'll second the getting the nuts back on. It's a bear when it's rotated. I'd imagine it's impossible, if you somehow managed to get them off, without rotating.

It's easier to just rotate the engine...

Do some searching... I've posted most of the procedure a number of times and don't have time to again.

It's simple. If you want to remove the header you "can" without rotating the engine. On a nine it'll come right out I think, on a twelve you need to bend one of the cooling fins on the rear head a little bit.

one of my fellow NEBO brothers(FireboltEric) swears he can pull his header and put it back on without rotating the engine. i have yet to ask or learn his secret, but post up over in

for him maybe he'll teach you his ways!

I can testify that you do not need to rotate the engine down, I did it on the wifes 9s and on my 12ss both in about 1 1/2 hours time.
