Longtime lurker but decided to post about my Lightning repair after an accident. Worst damage to the bike was a dent (about 4" in diameter) and scratches in the left side of the frame at the widest point. Also broke off the footpeg. Seems like the frame has to be replaced at a cost of a little over $5K. Ouch! Makes $100 frame sliders seem cheap! Luckily I have insurance (not required in Florida). I, personally, faired about the same. Broken collarbone with reconstructive surgery. Won't be riding for at least another 6 weeks.  -rustr | ||

I suppose the $5k figure includes alot of labor charges, as the actual cost of just the frame would be considerably less, no? Please advise. | ||

Chaser, Trojan Horse makes a frame protector that's carbon fiber and kevlar that covers the entire frame spar - I believe they retail for about $320 US. Ask Daves, I know he does Trojan Horse stuff. Brian from Tilley's (Buckinfubba) might as well. Bryan |
