first off thanks for your interest in this. We are just 2 guys that love buells and wanted to make something better for our bikes. This is not a full time business for us, and everypipe is hand made and takes about 5 or 6 hours per pipe.
heres the final revisions to the pipe.
the new pricing for simplicity is:
new pipe $450
exchange $350/includes shipping back to you
kit(ecm filter and pipe $725 with exchange pipe $625

we are now using a stainless steel outlet pipe ( so yes you can have some bling bling) and we shortened the out let 3/4 of an inch.

xb12r (gary) has a pipe on the way to him in fla for his 12 and he is gonna dyno it so we can see the charts, he also has the d&d pipe on his 12 and we will compare the results.

I finally weighed the dang thing it weighs 10.2 lbs and the race can weighs 12.8 if I remeber correctly the stock weighs about 16lbs I may be wrong on that.
if you are interested email me and I will tell ya where to send the pipe. It will be to kevin's business.
we have 3 made up and ready to go so turn around time is just how long it takes ups to get it here and then get it back.
this pipe reall does make a difference in the bike.It makes a good difference.

DaveS,

Are you getting one of these to try on your bike? Curious to know how well they work on a motor that's been warmed up some since I hope to work on mine this winter.

I will have it on mine,Doug's and Todd's to find out how it works with different setups on 9s and try it on a 12 as well.

Dumb question, but does it come with a lifetime warranty? Seriously, if something goes awry with it, what's the recourse?

I am still amazed at the increase over stock.

No real warranty so to speak but we will stand behind it. Theres really nothing to wrong tho. The weleds are3 good and its fit obviously is perfect so. what would happen.
Now if you wheelie that bugger and wreck thats not our fault . hahaha
really we would fix it .

I'll vouch for Bubba's character; He is a nasty, no good, low down...JUST KIDDING! No reason to worry about getting stiffed. Anybody wanna buy my D&D so I can get a Drummer? $375.00???

Congrats on your new product and your williness to put your neck on the chopping block in an effort to improve the breed!!

Just one question, though. Will you build your pipe with the stock end welded back on? I'd love to have one but I'd also like the STEALTH look of the stock pipe, understanding I'd lose a little power. Or would you consider a dual outlet design using the leftover ends from other guys pipes? I'd be willing to pay to have this look. By the way this would be for a 12.

Thanks!!

Bubba,

I am curious as to how you are dealing with the trapdoor hinge inside the XB12 muffler?

If you change the muffler won't it screw up the computer and other electronics if that is gone?

This may be a stupid question but I am curious??

Newfie,

I'll try and give you the best answer here. The Factory Race muffler does away with the Interactive Exhaust Valve (trapdoor), you'll have to use the Factory Race ECM to run the Factory Race Muffler, Brian's Drummer muffler or any after market muffler on the XB12.

Brian has sent one to Florida for xb12r(Gary) to test and Dave at Iowa HD/Buell should be getting one to test soon.

Eric
Brian your welcome.

Answers:

Ted....I've always cooked you breakfast in the morning. How can you say I am nasty....

gearhead
you would lose more than a lil power...when we tried the outlet there it had a dip from 3.5k to4.8k of 12 to 13 ft/lbs...not that I am trying to be a bastard. but we won't sell a pipe that doesn't work. I can't say abot the 2 outlet deal if it works or not. And lets just say the end of the pipe and the out let pipe work in conjunction with each other. So sorry but no we stick to our guns. this works best in the long run.

newfie....hows the weather up there.,..as spooky said we do away with it. and we will know soon how it works on the 12's

the sound is a low tone rumble or roar. Don't know how to do sound clips but to my ears it is great. not to loud not to soft just right. Atleast I think so.

by the way we've sold 2 more today got one going tommorrow. I am happy that others think like me....performance comes first...no not honda...but hell it is right.

ted
sell that thing and come get the DRUMMER...

thanks to david in virgina , Gary in florida and charlie in virgina for their support.

darth we'll talk soon and Keith in cali talk the wife into it.

soon dave we'll have words on it I am sure.

Told ya Brian. Folks are more interested in the noise sad to say. No matter how great you tell em it is & post the dyno charts to back it up. It comes back to "hows it sound". people will trade hp for a poser noise level.

I thought it sounded like the hum of a V-12 Ferrari mixed with the subtle pounding of a FORD 5.0 litre. Give me your phone # and I'll put the
pipe to it..hehehehe. If you want loud bye D&D,Force...if you want quiet bye Race pipe...if you want performance with a sound that is louder than race pipe yet quieter than D&D/Force bye the DRUMMER!!!! Oh wait, somebody bye my D&D first. :)

Dyna
I ain't worried about none of that, because to my ears it sounds better than the others. Loud is just obnoxious sometimes. But its ok to ask the questions. And once the others that have purchased these and get them on and tell about it it will end the discussion.

plus kevin is looking into powder coating and jet hot for those that want it. It will cost more and will take a lil longer to get it done but we will try to help ya out.

thanks to brian
put his pipe on the xb12,tryed the pipe around town and did not feel any differance,At 2500 the wheel would come off the ground with both pipes,
D&D and drummer, the pipe does sound good and on the dyno the drummer gave me 8 more hp and no dip.
will try a new dyno one that does HD

Brian,
If you wasn't so butt ugly Id kiss you. That pipe kicks butt. I only got about ten miles on it,but that drummer makes some serious power.
Ted, you better get rid of that D&D while its still worth acouple of bucks. When this drummer gets on a couple dozen bikes, you wont be able to give this other stuff away............Later Charlie

Is it pointless to start small and just put the pipe on, or just save my bucks for the whole package? It sucks having a birthday at the end of January

Hey Dyna, when people ask about the sound, they're not neccessarily trading power for poser points as you put it. After all in my case I did get a V-twin for both reasons, I love the sound and I love the torque curve. So although I may ask about the sound, I also care about the power response. After all I am sure you'd mind if your bike sounded like a honda.

Boulder, my point is the Buell guys love to rip on the Harley owners for running drag pipes even tho it causes a loss of power. Yet someone can develop a pipe for Buells that works great & builds power, but the Buell boyz wont buy it if its too quiet. They will also trade a little hp for some noise.:D

Dyna, I see your POV now. Although, if I can have my cake and eat it too, I sure will

So what are your thoughts on it so far vs. the original with the valve. I've got the same bike so I'm definitely curious. BTW have you done anything else to your bike, besides filter/ECM?
