I've found an 04 xb9 near me with low miles. What's the difference between the 03 and 04's besides the belt?

Can the 04's accept the lifetime belts or do you still have to change something? It's 5300 obo.

04 belts arent lifetime. I think they're good for 30k miles.
an 03 may have bad wheel bearings that a recall was done on. (do a search)
03 may have a kickstand sensor so the bike wont start if its down.

I don't even think you can get the non-lifetime 04+ belt anymore; when I got a new one the part number has been superseded to the most recent version. Direct swap.

Thanks Nik, that's what I needed to know.

Well the search continues. I never went to see it, but it had a dent in the frame and part of the rear swing arm is missing (right side top piece). not to mention some scuffed pipes. I'm not paying that much for a damaged bike. Well, maybe if it were a xb12s.
