because unless your tires arent grippy, you'll cause the earth to rotate in the direction away from the front of the buell.

best to just keep the bike on idle, mate.

Do you mean reving upon start up and warm up?

If so, it is a no no because of the fuel injection. When you twist the throttle the bike gets fuel first then air which is totally opposite of a carb that gets air first followed by fuel.

Add to this the fact that when cold the bike's ecm is making the mixture rich for warm up and you have a really great recipe for fouling a spark plug while revving it.

Once she's all warmed up and at normal operating temp it's all fair game.

Ya just gotta leave the throttle alone for the first minute or two : )

What Metalstorm said....Trust me you don't want to change those plugs more than you have to because they are a pain to get to.

I goose my throttle a little bit when downshifting to smooth out the transition.

It is okay if its cold and you slowly roll on the gas a tad to avoid the cold engine dying. Just dont get carried away with it like I do at 4 am to get the old lady up to make me breakfast.

Do the carbed buells not have an accelerator pump? If so they get gas as soon as the throttle turns. I can see where blipping the throttle could foul them out if u do it continually but revving it up to a decent rpm should burn any and all fuel in the cylinder. Please let me know what I'm missing if this isn't correct and why. I'm eager to learn something today.

I rev match for downshifts as well.

Rev matching downshifts FTW Nothing sounds better than a perfectly executed revmatch while slowing down.

The XBs are fuel injected and have no choke as such. The ecm adjusts the fuel mixture on warmup to make it run smooth much like a choke does on a carburetted engine.

Blipping the throttle when cold fouls the plugs by over richening an already rich mixture.
