The front wheel on my cityX doesn't feel like it's as "stuck" to the road as it used to in corners. It feels light, almost like it's skimming the road. now for those that don't follow the "let's get in on thread", I've gone from 321 lbs to 262 lbs and falling since April. The suspension is at the 250+ settings per the manual. I think I need to reduce the compression dampening, like a 1/4 turn. Any thoughts? should I do the front and rear or just the front? The rear feels fine.

Try just the front. We're forever screwing with suspension settings on the race bikes. No where does it say to do the front and rear suspension equally. You may have better luck starting from the begining and setting sag on the front and rear, then make your other adjustments.
Congrat's on the weight loss. Wish I had that kind of will power!

Thanks Rock. I'm gonna fiddle with the compression today a little and see what that does. Setting the preload on the cityX is kinda a PITA due to the cross bar on the handle bars. We're putting the crossroads on her next week, so I'll probably soften the front end one setting across the board then while the bars are off.

Make sure you're adjusting the suspension after you've made sure the tire pressure is correct.

Didn't think about that, I gotta get a new gauge as I left my old one on the garage floor and proceeded to run it over with the magnum.

I did go ahead and back the compression off a 1/4 turn, made all the difference in the world. I'm just surprised that i was smart enough to feel the difference.

That's good that you're on the way to fixing it. Remember - make ONLY ONE change at a time. I'd also look at the preload once you get the bars swapped - try setting it by the book for your current bodyweight and I bet you'll notice a night and day difference : )

Congrats on slimming down - I bet your docs and S.O. are happy!

since I'm still over 250, the preload is still at spec for me. When we have the bars off, I'm gonna set the preload up for one lower weight group.
