Has anyone tried this out or is getting better break pads just as good. I'm not going to be racing or anything but I just want a little more stopping power.

Are you talking about putting on a Ducati rear brake? It is easier to respond if you put a link to the product your talking about, just an FYI. But if you are talking about the Ducati rear from what people have said it is nice but rears are rears -- mostly useless.

The really cool rear brake mod is the one from Dark Horse Moto that makes your rear brake stealthed behind the side of the swingarm.

I'm looking more for the front stopping power. Just not sure if I should just go with some better pads or is the problem bigger then that.

I am curious about your statement, "or is the problem bigger". Could you explain this?

My OEM front brake system is plenty for me. I did have some brake fading last year until I bleed and replaced the fluid.

Try replacing the fluid and pads first.

Hey xbrnutt - I upgraded to an 1125R master cylinder and it made a world of difference. Less lever travel, much 'crisper' feel to the brakes, plus more power. With the stock master, I had tried different pads, different fluids, bleeding/re-bleeding, etc, none of which truly helped. The 1125 master bolted straight up and the problem was solved.

Any of the Badweb vendors can get one for you - cost me roughly 110 bucks I think. Look identical to stock XB part, too, but has a 1mm bigger bore in the master for a bit more leverage.

I was happy enough with my front brake until I rode the 1125. It is MUCH better in every respect.

I agree with the fact that the front breaks are good. My problem may just be a fluid replacement.

I did get new pads thinking that was the problem. When I took the old ones off I noticed that they were just fine. My bike has about 7500 miles and it's an 03. Got it last june with 2500 miles on it. But I haven't replaced the break fluid yet. The break fluid is 5 almost 6yrs old.

Maybe the 1125 master cylinder might be the answer. When you by the master does it come with pads or can I use the ones I already have?

Does the 1125 8 pot caliper bolt up to the XB forks?

It looks like the bolts are the same as the XB's.

Yes, the 1125R Front Brake Caliper will bolt right on. You will also need the 1125R master cylinder and I think the 1125R front brake line.

xb9rnutt - the master cylinder does not include pads. It is simply a direct replacement for your OEM master cylinder up on the handlebar and it includes the brake lever itself. You use the existing brake line and banjo bolt. And yes, if your fluid is that old you need to replace it anyway!
