and have found an archive thread with several broken factory ones;
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/359108.html?1214481361

Any better aftermarket exhaust clamps available? What size is the stock clamp?

I have XB12Ss with an original Drummer. I know it is lighter than stock muffler but I want it secured. It is wrapped with rusting coat hanger wire right now (eek!)((no, I did not do it, bought it that way)).

Found these on a cursory search;

take out the spaces below for good link;

There's nothing wrong with the factory ones - just like the earlier belts, they have to be treated properly.

You're supposed to replace them any time you take them off, as well. I've been using the original set for 6 years and probably a dozen removals.

Bought one from Detroit HD, $11.45

We'll see how long it lasts.

They are nothing special.

Cost about $3.50 at your local marine supply. Stainless muffler strap.

Do you have the size of the front strap?

20" circumference (using same point begin/end) and will probably adjust down 1"-2" from the looks of the threaded portion of the bolt.

markings on it;

let's call it 18" circumference.

That would be a diameter of 19/3.14 = 6 inches

Deep Blue Yacht Supply in Fort Lauderdale has them.

Here is the URL:

http://www.deepblueyachtsupply.com/series.aspx?id= 127

I believe the rear straps are #70STBC750

Looks like the front straps are #70STBC600

They come in various diameters in quarter inch increments.

They cost under four bucks.

I have been rightfully accused of being a bit of a cheapskate, but I just don't like buying generic hardware from the dealership when it cost three or four times more than standard parts that are more easily available.
