Hi, I have a 05 xb12scg. I've been looking into getting a stroker or big bore kit to get some more power from the motor but it seems that there isn't much out there listed for the bike or places don't want to have anything to do with you. I've heard of a company called Cycle Rama though that claims of an 88" motor making 160hp in an X1. While that may be a little much I would like to get over 130hp without a turbo or anything. Can anyone help me out and lead me in the right direction?

On the 160+HP X1... I watched it in a dyno shootout at Daytona in '06. It's a bad mama jama...

has anyone here done anything bigger then a 1250? Is it really noticable? Any problems? Anything?

Treadmarks put a 1250 kit on his Uly. Should be able to search the Big, Bad & Dirty section or shoot him a PM.

i put an 88 in my race bike, due to tune it on thursday. so far the thing feels just wicked, i can't wait to ride it fully tuned.-andrew

mmm...103inch -- that's just silly!

When I run out of warranty I would like to do some messing with the engine -- what can our XB12s get with 1250 kits or 88 conversions? I don't think I would like a turbo or anything, just a better thumpin engine.

Hrmm...how about a 88 and a 41-42 tooth? That would make an interesting top speed, kinda that opposite of popping a 9 one in our 12s.

It is kinda cool having a Harley engine though -- just begging to be futzed with.

I got in contact with Cycle Rama, they don't have anything for Xb's yet but are looking into it. I guess Charlie, ?, is on vacation this week and I should call back next week to talk to him. Who else out there make some kits? Anyone has dyno sheets to prove the what a 1250 can do or an 88"? Who made the kit you bought huey?

Cycle Rama is a high performance shop. They may not may not stock kits for your XB, but rest assured that they indeed do have what you are looking for. Ask for Pammy, tell her what you want and what you are looking to invest and she'll put together a quote.

As you are in CT, you might want to consider the good folks at Johnson Engine Technology. They even race a Buell XBike.

Whatever you do, I strongly advise that you let the engine experts do all the work. High performance EFI engines really aren't something that the non-professional wrench is qualified to put together and tune. Getting the tuning correct right from the start can mean the difference between a very expensive experiment or a kick ass reliable hot-rod street motor.

Thanks Blake, I shot them over an email. I did contact Revolution Performance and they offer a 88" and 90" kit. Sounds like the 88 will do 130hp and the 90 is 130+. Has anyone here ever done a 88 or 90 on their xb? I'd love to hear from them.

I did talk to Pammy when I called cycle rama. I was told that they don't really have any kits for the xb but said I should call back and talk to Charlie when he gets back from his vacation. You guys are right though, she was nice.

I don't think the bore and stroke is a big issue. When I did my 1250 last year cam timing for aftermarket cams was the issue, as the big inch profiles were for the sportster timing. It has been done though. ECM mapping and fuel delivery were also areas of concern with the big inch and turbo setups.

The 1250 was plug and play.
