Ok, this is going to sound nuts but I'm going to throw this out there anyway. I recently bought two buells for a great price that I couldn't pass up on. A 05 City X and an 05 cg. My wife is trying to learn (and doing pretty good) on the City X. Problem: She is short and the bike is tall which makes her a bit uncomfortable. My cg is short and I'm 6'1. I like my cg but wouldn't mind it being a bit taller. Can I switch springs and forks on the two bikes and make it work or do I need to cut down on my alcohol intake? |

I would first try swapping the seats. The city seat is taller than the other standard XBS seats. |

Everything will interchange. We've put Cg stuff on Firebolts before with very good results. Just unbolt and swap the fork tube assemblies and the rear shock/spring assembly, and keep the seats with their respective suspensions, and you'll end up with an XB9Scg (just like the old XB9SL) and an XB12SX |

on the 05s you will have to swap out the lower triple clamps to trade the forks because the tubes are smaller on the cg. parts to swap: 1)shock 2)forks 3)lower triple clamps 4) kickstand I have scg suspension on my 03 firebolt and it was a really easy mod. |

Thank god I don't have to ease up on my drinking! Thanks everyone for the advise. Good call on the clamps Diablo, I would have figured that out the hard way. Will post progress and pics when done. |

Why not just switch bikes. You might find that you end up liking the Cityx better. You wife might end up being more comfortable on the longer wheelbase bike (more stable) |

I love riding the city X and we discussed swapping bikes but right now she is not comfortable on the 12. In fact she is a bit scared of it. |

Switch the body panels on it, add the hand guards to the S.... see how long it takes her to notice... I have a customer that only buys black bikes from me, he is on his 4th roadglide, he swears the wife doesnt know he got a new bike everytime. |

Nah City, she walked by my bike the other day and noticed I had new grips on the bike. Plus my cg sits so much lower than the CityX that she'd problably hit me with something for thinking she was stupid! |
