OK...maybe it's a stupid question...but..does the word "Buell" have any specific meaning?

Is it a type of horse or slang for one?

Umm...it would be the company's founder's last name. As in, Erik Buell.

A horse?

(Just kidding, Erik, ya know we love ya!)

Erik?...stubborn?

Actually, the association that you might relate to is that the Buell Pegasus was derived from the Buell family crest.

Horse?....as in "horse sense"...I like that.

:)

I know there was a Civil War (known in these here parts as the Great War of Northern Agression )generel by the name of Buell.... Unfortunatly, I believe he had an infamous reputation...

There are many Buells in the world, and several products with Buell as a name. Type in "Buell" on E-Bay and you'll find everything from truck or ship airhorns to Bebe Buell.
Just remember, it isn't pronounced "Boo-Ell". :)

Erik?...stubborn? <~~Court

Of course! I mean, come on, he's STILL using an air-cooled V-Twin, long stroke engine when everyone knows that you just plain CAN NOT make a good motorcycle with one. </end sarcasm>

I once rode the fabled Buell horse, I think I was in scandanavia somewhere. Hey Benmarc just giving you a really hard time, eventually you will learn all about Buells hanging out on this website, don't be discouraged. Speaking of engines, have you heard about the Ducati GP engine. It is 4 Cylinders in a V pattern. They fire each side at the same time so that it has the torquey (sp?) nature of the twin but can rev higher and make more hp. Pretty cool if you ask me. I watched one blow a honda out of the water on the final lap at Estorile (sp?). Wow that is off subject, sorry.

You're right "Court". I thought there was something further into the background of the word "Buell"..cause of the association with the Buell "Pegasus" logo (the mythological flying horse). Was aware of Founder's name.

Just a shot in the dark question.

Hey, not sure where to post this, but since there was a comment on Knoxville here, I wanted to let those going know that Erik won't be there. His mom is in intensive care, very sick. His eyes were rolling up in his head from the stress of everything, so the team at Buell tied him up and told him to stay home.
