showed the dealer(DHD)aug 29th, and they make me an app. for sept 5th(cool-pretty fast), I drop it off on the 4th. My bike was first on the tech's list to do for the 5th so it should be done by noon. I call(1pm), "oh yeah sorry, we dont have the parts yet" (why the fuk didn't they check to see if they had the parts when I dropped it off)
fine.
went down to pick it up so I could ride.
the next app they can give me was for the 20th. I drop it off on the 18th after they ruined my tire on the dyno run. I come by sat around 4:00. not done, we'll get on it sunday(21st). ok, I call them 1hr before they close on sunday,"uhh, we can't get to it until monday" I then asked for a loaner bike and he said, " uhm, we do rent harleys"

I went down and picked it up and will not be returning.(still leaking oil) what does it take, 2-3 hours to change one? I should have known better when they charged me $88 a few weeks ago for a TPS reset.

Misato, talk directly (in person) to TJ and express your concerns (in a direct but respectful manner) and ask him if he will take care of you. Let us know how he responds....

Can you go to a different dealer and have the work done? Maybe Cycle Barn (http://www.cyclebarn.com/) up in Lynnwood might be able to get the job done. Thats where I picked up my bike...I haven't had anything worked on yet so I can't really tell you if they are any better.

Misato,

I just ordered all the front fork seals along with my 15K maintenance stuff. I need to replace the fork oil and I'm going to do the seals then too. Better safe than sorry. I'll let you know just how involved of a job it was, perhaps you're better off just doing it yourself.

Yup. Dealer support for these bikes is a really sick joke. When I was in the market for the bike it was either a Buell or a Triumph, and the MCN suggested that Triumph dealer support in the US was abysmal, but I figgered there's a Harley dealer in every town of any size... soooo... The Buell found a home.

I am really, really, disappointed in the treatment I receive at Pikes Peak Harley Davidson/Buell here in Colorado Springs. Fortunately for me Outpost in Pueblo is top notch dealership, and when it comes time to get the XB in a year or so, that's where I'll be going. I have their number in my cell phone and I can call and get parts from them ASAP. 100 miles or so round trip and it's worth it to be treated like a customer rather than an annoyance.

I hate the condescending attitude I get at Pikes Peak. Whatever you do fellas, DON'T go there! Typical poseur Harley dudes.

Hey Stubby,
You might give Rocky Mountain Harley a call. They sponsor a BRAG group, and Dave Croach in parts is a long time Buell rider and has fought hard to keep a bunch of Buell parts and schwag in stock. RMHD 303-703-2885. They are on County line Road and Hwy 85 (C-470 and 85)

umm...back to topic...
No problem with my fork seals yet, at 9200 miles.

on another note, I talked to the service manager at DHD, and he really cleared things up and tried to make it right with me. he did go out of his way I think and seemed very concered about what happened. anyway all is good
free service
free dyno run
and $40 back on the TPS reset..
