Author Message   Nik Posted on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 - 04:55 pm:        It blew for the first time while riding on Sunday, so I replaced it with a spare. Then it blew again today as soon as I turned the key to on. The bike still runs, and the headlight and brakelight still work. Everything's stock; 2005 XB9SX. Is there any common places to look for a short? The bike did have one on the tail-light circuit where the wiring harness flexes from the frame to the forks, so I'll start by checking there.   Rocketsprink Posted on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 - 05:21 pm:        I had that problem. Mine was caused by water getting into the unused light bulb outlet that is used on the European bikes for a parking light. They don't install the bulb for the bikes here in the states. It is in the headlight housing, between the 2 headlights. I cleaned it out, filled it with silicon sealant , and never had another issue with it. I can't be sure that was the problem though because it blew this morning with no signals.
