I have two riding buddies that just had the Force Exhaust and race EMC put on their XB9s,BOTH Force exhausts are broke! They both broke on the bottom support.I hoped this wouldnt happen to them, they all have been aware of my dealings with John at Force, and how the Force warranty is utterly WORTHLESS!The front mount on my M2 Force exhaust was redesigned and has held up well, but there will have to be more redesign done on the Force XB exhaust. You can buy the exhaust, run it on the dyno for a nice number, then better take it off, because if you ride with it,IT WILL BREAK!hey John |

Scooter broke his twice, but he also says that Force claims if you dont torque it properly that it will break. However Force doesnt supply you with a torque chart to go by. The warranty is suspect if I say so. The product wont break if you install it properly & if it does break its your own fault, so tough luck. Personally I would just get the D&D pipe & be done with it. |

I'd like to see how many people with the XB force exhaust have had it break. If you have a Force exhaust for the XB and it broke, speak up. I have a few pictures to post when I get a few of my fellow XB riders "improper torquers" to let me take a few pics of the damage caused by improper torqueing! Richie, tell us how you really feel about John! L8R, Joe edited by usapitbullz on September 21, 2003 |

Maybe if Force would use some thicker tubing on the exhaust and thicker metal for the supports they wont break.I would gladly have a little heavier exhaust set-up if I knew it would hold up.Im not sure what thickness of tubing they are using at force, but I have seen it broke and it looks paper thin!Maybe a thicker tubing along the lines of the Thunder Header would probably work. You can just hold the Thunder Header exhaust and feel how Beefy the tubing is,MAYBE we can talk them into making some exhausts for the Buells? |

Well I know Sam's was tq.ed properly. Frank called Force and they said to manuals spec.s You see they didn't send any installation instructions with his. Maybe the attorney general needs to look at this. |

My Force exhaust has sat gathering dust in my garage for the last 6 weeks. My concern once I received it was ground clearance, lack of instructions and a rather complete and full disclaimer. When this was followed by stories on the boards of failures, I’ve been in no rush to fit it. I’m probably going to use the header and mate it to my Wileyco can as it fits right on. Racing ends in October so there may be a spare Force Muffler Only for sale then.....any one interested?

Mark, Have you seen a setup with the Force header and a Wileyco exhaust? How did the bike run? Im also concerned about the ground clearance for next seasons trackdays. L8R, Joe |

Joe I’m currently racing with the Wileyco can on the standard XB9 headers. The Wileyco fits in the same place as the stock muffler and is actually a lot smaller in diameter and about 2” shorter. When I received the Signature system I was immediately concerned with its length. So I dropped the Wileyco can off and fitted the Force muffler in its place (Straight fit, one for the other). The systems overhang on the left hand side looked like I would loose a significant amount of ground clearance. For track duties no HP gain is worth reducing corner speed or from a safety point, dragging the pipe at 100mph on a flying lefthander is not an additional thrill im seeking. I’m figuring that with the Power Commander, O2 sensor, the Force header, pretty much any other un-restrictive muffler and a good dyno/Power Commander Technician, it should be mappable. I’ll keep you posted on my personal R&D effort. Anyone know whereabouts these things are breaking ? Mark

Thanks for the info, and keep us informed. I was contemplating the D & D or Wileyco. I definitly agree with you on the leftside overhang, I don't think I'll be having that on the track next season. L8R, JM |

OK, I spoke with Dave at Force today and he said to send in the pipe so they can look at it. He also said it would "Most Probably 99%" be under warranty. He also stated that there will be a few design modifications. Keep you all informed. L8R, JM |
