took the advice of others and used metalcast paint to match heelguards to the amber rims.  gonna do the riders next and maybe the top of the back rail above the breaklight if the paint looks like it holds up good.the match seams good but I got it a little darker then I wanted but Im happy.I decided to get the amber guards buell sold to late and they were discon. so what the hell,make your own! | ||

Nice! I'd be more complimentary, but you're an Avs fan.  I wish I could get the damned heelguards off of my passenger peg mounts, every single one of those crappy allen heads are stripped and I just haven't found the motivation to drill them out yet. >.< I have my mounts reversed to lower and move foward the passenger pegs, my g/f said it helps the angle her knees are at considerably - but it looks a little ridiculous with the stupid heel guards pointing foward. LOL | ||

yes,I got it from the auto part store,I used the metalcast primer as well,the paint can be matched almost perfect depending on how many coats you use.there are a few posts on it,do a search.Oh and by the way Darthane, I hate to but congrads to the Wings for there season Im sure you must be a fan,will see if the Avs can hit you back next year.wings got us pretty f-ing good this time. | ||

OK so I couldnt find any paint around my local stores and had heard that they discontinued making it so I ordered a box of 12 yesterday....I know I probably will never need this many but at least I wont run out .... | ||

...just go hog-wild and paint EVERYTHING, Fast, then it'll all match! Wings took it home last night, thank God - I couldn't have managed another 3 OT game. Has Sakic made a decision on whether he'll retire? That'll be a sad day, him and Yzerman were great peers and rivals on the ice. | ||

I have a feeling he will play at least one more season, I sure hope so.congrads once more on the season and the cup,they earned it.Yzerman and Sakic are two of the best captains in NHL history as far as im concerned and the Avs and Wings have had one of the best rivalry ever. | ||

 did the riders,I also got some clear coat to put on.  Im deciding weather or not to use some bar ends I painted the same.Im definitely happy with how they came out,I just hope the paint lasts.  |
