I just installed the race kit on my buddies 9s and it was cake...1hr and it was done...but...I work fast being that I am a part time dirttrack pit man...a couple of hours at the most i would guess for others...and yes it sounds good. We are still waiting for the Stealership to stop hangin chrome and reset the tps...it has been sitting for almost a week for a 5 min job...we are not happy campers...good luck

"it has been sitting for almost a week for a 5 min job...we are not happy campers..."

Start hanging out in their waiting area drinking all their coffee and eating all their donuts and with a post-it note stuck to your cell phone with Buell/Harley Customer Service's telephone number written on it and ask to talk to the shop owner every 30 minutes or so. Quick jobs should move to the front of the queue. Buell should sell or rent a TPS resetter tool and make it available to customers, or at least sell some software for customers to use at home.

Here's an opportunity for someone to make some bucks. Surely one of you guys could figure out how to do this and then go to market with it.

Buell wont release the scanalyzer. For some reason they like to have folks think its some mysterious & complicated procedure. last year at Hals B-trax I needed a reset & was waiting for the tech to get to it. Randall from buell C.S. told the tech that if they would give him the tool he would reset it, they wouldnt. Plus I mentioned to him that if they gave the tool to me I could do it myself.

Fuel injection is nice on cars, but for my bikes I prefer carbs.

I had my dealer do it. They charged me $110. I did not think that was bad and they seemed to have done a nice job.

Or are you talking $110 to install the race kit?

Even that is very ez to do. I wouldnt pay anyone $110 to do it.

$110 to install the race kit; muffler, air cleaner, ecm and reset.

I did not feel I wanted to tackle this lying on my back (no lift in my garage) and the bike was there for service anyway.

I'm the buddy Torqd referred to above. I could have done it by myself but I wanted someone with experience to make sure I didn't screw it up (Frank rules!). Got the bike back today. I called this morning to see what was up. Apparently the dealers Buell tech got it done yesterday. No one bothered to call me. Charged me .5 hour labor ($30) and $5 for shop materials.

They charged you $35 for a TPS reset? I think I will just let them install it for me, that way they cannot say I messed something up and my wife won't know the difference when it comes back from the 1K service.

I just have to pile on the miles before parking for the winter.
