Just wondering has anyone had this happen after changing the muffler ( Jardine ) on my 08 xb iv'e noticed the revs take longer to drop back to idle. Also has anyone ran the Jardine with the insert, does this help with poping ?

sounds like you're running lean and in need of a tps reset. That's most likely causing the hang up on the rpm's. Although I've never heard of that symptom after just a muffler change. I don't believe the insert will help with the popping issue. Again, most likely running lean.

I had this happen but it was due to an open air box conversion. Did you modify the air box when you installed the exhaust?

Around 1000 rpm but the problem is when i back off to idle the revs drop normal to around 2000 rpm and then take a few seconds to go back to idle !

Try lowering your idle a smidge. See if that cures it.

I got your problem, and it's usually caused by the idle not set right.
These bikes are really sensitive to the idle setting.
Try setting the idle just a hair lower and see what that gets you.

I'm with Glitch,my 07 xb12 had the same problem after a Special OPS installation.
Lowered the RPM a little,to 1000 - 1100 RPM. All's well now.

Make sure its up to temp first.
Beat it around the block a few times THEN adjust the idle just a TINY bit
