Can anyone tell me about the warranty on the bikes. Dealership told me that since my bike was "NEW" but was put into service in June of 2006 (date on sticker on steering head) that the warranty would expire in June of 08' since that is what they come w/. I would have to purchase an extended warranty to get one? Did I get shafted? I am the 1st owner but was bike was a demo or is there someone to contact? I purchased the 07 xb12s in Jan. 4th 2008.

I bought my '03 new in '05, (not as a demo though), and had the full warranty from the time I bought it.
Check around with other dealers. I would think that yours would be the same as mine was, with a full warranty from the purchase date.

You are entitled to a full warranty, IMHO.
Since you are the original owner, you should get the full treatment.
If it helps your peace of mind, I never had to use my warranty. It's been a great bike. Hopefully yours will be too.
You might want to call the dealership and speak with a big-wig about it. Maybe they can work something out for you.

you could try to push the issue if you wanted to , but it states very clearly in your owners manual that warranty begins on the date of purchase or the first date the bike is put in service(if it's a demo). but do some bitchen ya never know.

I haven't had to use it, but that situation has been in the back of my mind since the day I got it. I have till June something to get the xtended warranty is it worth the piece of mind for an extra $500.

That's BS! The warranty starts the day the bike is titled, not the day it is manufactured. You need to call Buell Customer Service and complain about this. 414-343-8400.

Sounds like the dealership is trying to push you into buying their extended warranty. If anything, call Buell customer service about it.

How many miles did it have when you bought it?

Well, if it was "New but Used" as in a demo - they should been very clear about that and compensated you up front for buying a bike others have ridden.

However, as it was stated above, the warranty starts from when the original owner titled the bike. (Well, atleast that is when my warranty runs out - 2 years after the title date)

It had around 3,100 miles on it and I got a reasonable deal ( i thought).

I am the first owner and was titled in Jan. of 08. Will call them on my lunch hour.
