Just picked the bike up tonight from HDCC/Buell in Waterloo on my stock XB12R with 560 correctly broken in miles.

Max Hp = 88.3
Max Torque = 72.7

I believe it from the seat of the pants dyno but I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Daves tells me that their dyno has not been known to be overly friendly so on some dynos your XB12 numbers could be higher.

Now I can't wait to install the race kit!! Thanks, guys...

From the numbers Dave has posted from previous runs on 9's, they are about 5-7 less than everyone else.

Give it another 3000 miles of riding and see what it says then, too!

Had mine dyno'd at Nallin racing. It made 90.8hp and 74.9 foot pounds of torque. It had 120 mile on it. I'd expect to gain a few horse's when the rings seat good.

So Erik was telling us like it was!!!!The 12 is most making mid 90's hp.That would be at Wisconsin's altitude though.

Heres what he posted on ATC, this was a 12R

ok here it is all.....
0.2 miles on the clock
93.8 hp and 71.4 torque
bone stock outa the box... sorry i cant post the graph, they wouldnt let me take it...

without the airbox as per dawgs request, 91.2hp
but here's the kicker dawg, i did a less air test too.. taped up half the air intake... 94.4.... the bike is running too lean at high rpms, but on the low end its too rich.... needs a new map...

Not to say the 12's aren't good but my 9R has been on the dyno at AMI Brute HP shootout in March(sealevel) and it pulled 79 hp with factory racekit and HD syn oil.
Ran it again in June at Starved Rock HD/Buell in Illinois and it did 80 hp and 62 ft/lbs torque.
Has 3000+ miles on it. I broke it in easy for 400 miles on ran it at Road America 3 days last year to finish the break in. Everyone who rides it after riding a different 9 says it runs strong-maybe track day is a good thing to run at high rpm and let cool then repeat all day?

Coolice,
I know it doesn't sound like much of a difference in power but I'll try to give you a good example. First let me say that I had an XB9R and put a race kit on it. The race kit made a huge difference over the stock XB9. The XB12 is about the same amount of jump over your XB9 with the race kit and it is still in stock form. Also the 1200 pulls right from the start and has a much wider power band whereas the XB9R w/ race kit I had didn't make any power till about 4500 rpm's. I was constantly hitting the rev limiter before and know I hardly have to look at the tach. All in all the numbers on the 12 may not look all that impressive over the 9 but it is definitely the next step up.

Dben,

I know for a fact that you are wrong. I have ridden my 9R for 250 miles so far bone stock except for the new 04 mirrors which are a great improvement I will get the race kit as soon as I can, but the 12 is not that much faster.

It can't be! I just got my bike!!!! I still saved $3,000 over a 12, so I am not that sad.

sorry to burst anyones bubble but I own a 9R and when I test rode a 12 you can definatly tell the 12s have 28% more power. No $600 dollar race kit will give you a 28% increase.

The stock XB12 I rode even felt a little faster than the modifed X1 I used to own.

Leeaw,
LOL I know how you feel. I bought my XB9R new in the beginning of June then they anounced the XB12 in August. That really sucked, but I have a good dealer(Mile High Harley Davidson) and they gave me 8,000 on my XB9R for trade and I already had 3500 miles on it. Figured I couldn't go wrong. I loved my XB9R, but just though the 12 was a better base to upgrade from for me since I was getting a good deal on the trade in..

Get the Race kit!!! It make a fairly significant improvement on the 9's. You'll love it.

I've had some seat time on a 9 and now own a 12 and it is in every way faster then a nine.
