How do I go about getting both of my headlights to go on at the same time when I run my high beams?

thanks...new to the list but after about an hour of reading headlight related posts I figured I would finally break down and like the newbie that I am post a question that has probably been asked a million times.

ha, didn't even think to try that. Will it stay there while riding? I don't want to have to hold it.

I am confused, I have a firebolt and they already do this, both on in High Beam. Or is this a model specific problem?

You buy new Roadking? Mine was used with about 1k miles. Some H-D had it before me so I got hooked up with some goodies plus the both on in High Beam feature. I just purchased a new high beam housing. Gonna pull the low beamer and put in hyper white bulbs to run both all the time.

No mine was used...so I am understanding that it isnt normal to have both on.

I think it makes more sense to run both...

Not if the housing isn't designed to withstand 110 watts of heat.

Not to say that it isn't though, but its something that should be considered.

best way is to pull the connector for the headlights and swap the orange/white stripe wire with the yellow one.

Then when you flip on high beams they are both on.

You should not have any problems with heat as each light has its own housing designed for it.

The trick to getting the pins out of the connector is once the connector is removed swap the wires in the upper peice.

There's a clamp built into the connector. flip it up.

Next stick a saftey pin down the connector opposite the wires. There's a small ramp holding the metal pins inside the connector. Use the saftey pin to pry the ramp away from the pin. The pin should slide out with just a lil tug.

We've had this discussion in a previous thread as well. The low beam was designed to run with the bike on. It's housing obviously can't take this constant heat.

Both headlights share one housing that has two reflectors.

i had both lamps on (short and long) and after a few minutes (bike was standing - not moving) started to smoke from the housing or somewhere near.
not good if you ask me, too much heat

i must see now how the hi/low projectors with two xenon kits will work : D
i'll give some pictures when it'll be done (i need to make almost a new housing, an i need to make a new mask ... and so on) you'll see - i hope

I've had this mod done for months, absolutely NO issue with heat. While it is worth consideration, I'd say its pretty safe.
I run with both lights on during the day and most of the time during the night. So they would have ample opportunity to melt if they were going to do so.

I ride a 9r...housings must be different on the S. Least of my worries at this point, I blew my rear tire today. Time to come up with some money that I don't have.
