So, ive noticed a difference in riding my Buell vs my FZ6. Out of the year and some odd months I rode my FZ6, I had a total of one person approach me about it, and he thought it was a BMW :chuckle:.

After riding my Buell for all of 5 months, I have had 2 people ask me if it was for sale, and a half dozen hang out their car window asking me if its fast, or telling me how f'in sweet of a bike it is.

Erik has made one hell of a stunning bike hasnt he : )

Little kids in backseats wave and smile more at Buells, I've noticed.

A herd of little kids was around mine at the grocery store. It just started snowing while I was in line. Walked out and it stopped. One of the kids pointed at me and said, "That's him." Another told me, "Cool." They all watched as I road off. I love these bikes.

I've noticed a lot of kids waving, smiling, thumbs-up, and have had several people say "nice bike" etc. etc. The Lightning XB12Ss is my first street bike I've owned so I wasn't sure if it's just bikes in general or more specifically Buell's that get the attention. I like to think it's because it's such a sweet ride. more so than most bikes on the road.

That Bolt is a sweet looking bike.

I know most of you don't like HDs, but after owning my FXDX for five years I still get a kick out of the attention it gets. Kids especially are less inhibited in showing excitement over a bike. Kids may not know brands or speed or reliability, but they do know what looks good. The sound doesn't hurt either.

I have been feeling a little guilty lately. I've been riding to work and there are about 20 riders that park in the motorcycle stalls. You will see everything from a Kline bicycle, HD Glides, Honda VTXs, Ninjas, and even a Moto Guzzi. When I get off my shift I always have a dozen people or so around my XB12S commenting on everything from the translucid bodywork to the ZTL brake, all the while they are saying how cool and bada$$ it is. The guilt comes from the other bikes being completely ignored.

Sometime it's hard owning a Buell.... NOT. : ): )

Yeah, this is the first bike where during lunch last summer sitting outside eating I saw 20+ people walk slow past the bike, 4-5 stop and ponder it for a while, one guy seeming dumbstruck at the ZTL (kept staring at it, even got close up -- maybe it's a mirage? Managed not to laugh), and one guy crossed the street to ask me about it. Don't even ask me about my last trip to the video store...

But I love it -- though this year should be fun because all the badging is gone. I mean come on -- if our big gripe is HEADLIGHTS? That says something about our bikes.

I love my 12R (though to be honest, I wouldn't mind having a Triumph 675 and a Ducati 749 too -- the yin and the yang and the hooligan, so to speak).

With my exhaust to help, I get LOTS of comments at stop lights, people follow me into parking lots and everyone loves it...

+1 Elff...I like the question I get all the time, "Where is the exhaust?" Buell is one off and that's what I love. Now I have the task of getting my girl to want one. She says, "But I want a Sporty."

From the very first day I owned my Buell XB, I have gotten compliments on its looks, Many Harley owners ( a crowd that I myself was a part of for years ) have come up to me and the bike gawking. I get comments from people in cars all the time. Last week I had a guy on a Triumph triple speed just yacking away at me between stoplights. These bike draw attention, The minimalist look and the engineering involved seems to attract people to investigate further. I get questions about the bike almost daily. Almost every time I go out on a cruise on the weekend, someone will come up to me and ask what it is or something about how it works. It's an ego stroke for sure, but it will be even more so when I get the morph done on the bike. I have the parts to do my tail chop and will soon stroke the engine into a 1203 clone. Add the new paint job and this former XB9S will be a busa killer and a real eye catcher. I can't wait.

On my FZ6 I used to have a good amount of people ask if it was BMW as well!

Overall the switch to the Buell was a very good one! I love my Buell!!!
Only time I miss the FZ is when I get on the highway and I want to cruise at about 130! :-)

"Busa killer???"

Nice to think so but... any Hayabusa you stomp with a Buell (no matter HOW much you've modded it) is likely only running on two cylinders...

Sorry, but them's the facts.

On the curves the stock XB doesn't need any mods either.

Most people comment on how big the motor sounds vs how small it is. I ride with harley guys and one of them just commented today on how people keep on walking right by them to ask about my bike. Reminded me of this thread.

The other day a little girl riding in her moms car smiled waved at me kinda shyly. she probably was only 5. Damn Cutest lil thing. Almost makes me want to have one of them. But then again,, I barely get any time to ride, and with one of them kids needing constant care I would end up not riding hardly ever again for years.. I'll just stick to not having kids. The stepson is 12 now and he can ride with me. problem solved. LOL
