OK, so after 3300 miles my front brake started clicking audibly and very pronounced in the feel of the bike. However the bike still stops fine without fade. Took it to my dealer and they had no clue. The tech checked the springs and the Buell salesman rode it, stoppied it! The service manager rode it, stoppied it! No one has ever felt that or had any trouble. So they said they would call Buell and see whats up. Trouble is I leave for Texas(from Clevelnad) on it tomorrow. They said it "doesn't appear to be a safety issue." Any ideas? Maybe warped rotor?

Mine clicks, other's click, I wouldn't worry about it. It's the clearance between the rotor and the bushings.

Lot's of them do it. Some start up, some stop...doesn't seem to make any difference to the braking itself. Hell, I think it sounds cool...

Mine has clicked since I got it last year. Never seemed to bother it.

Glad you mentioned brakes though. I had my front brake pads replaced last month and ever since, it seems like I have lost about 1/3rd of my braking power in the front. At first I chalked it up to new pads melding with the old rotor, but they have had 1500 miles to seat and the problem still exists.

Have I glazed the pads or something? What are the possible problems? I plan to ask my mechanic about it this weekend, but would like to go in with some knowledge and the right vocabuellary.

Appreciate your help.

Problem is unless you get a Buell specific mechanic, they have no clue except what the book tells them. Even my Buell guy was baffled. Apparently they don't have "unusual" problems like mine. Thats a good thing. So I am anxious to see what Buell tells them about my brakes. Lets face it, we don't spend 10k on a bike that we baby and take meticulous care of to have the shops say "I dunno" and not take care of it. The guys around me that I ride with would say "man that this sounds good." Now they say "whats wrong with that Buell?" I guess it would be different if we had more than caliper right?

Well boys, my brakes finally started to "shudder" a little bit. I have 8500 pretty hard miles on the girl and I am wondering if it is the rotor or pads. What is the recommended service interval for pads on the xb's. It only happens at high speeds with light braking. If I get on them there is no problem and if I am going slow (rare, damn that fun machine) there is no problem. I know that this has been discussed before but I couldn't remember if people found out what exactly the problem was and if Buell was fixing it. Thanks in advance for the info.

Rumor has it the proplem is the "play" in the bushings (ROTOR).... Not enough play.... My bike has the same symptoms...

There is an updated rotor ass'y with more bushing clearance. No idea at what build date they started using the new ones, though.

I'm at 22K and holding for the last week. Last Wednesday night I hit a large chunk of concrete on the interstate; it bent & fractured the front wheel. Lucky I didn't go down........ Should be getting her back on the road tomorrow :)

I know how you feel. One night when I was riding home. Doin' about 65 going up 316 and I hit a wheel chock at the big flat end. The gas tank hit me in the chest all of a sudden, I didn't know what happened the bike was air borne and came down hard. I have no idea how I was able to wrestle that bike to the emergency lane with out laying it down. The back wheel was also bent but not broken like the front. The white line is the break in the wheel.

Glitch, I was luckier than you, it took a couple of minutes for the air to bleed out of my cracked rim, you obviously lost pressure instantly - OUCH!
