Anyone ever converted a XB to carburetor?

A few have but I'd have to ask: why?

I've been a witness to incredible pain on the part of a local race team who did it just because their chief wrench just REFUSED to learn the fuel injection.

They never could get it dialled in as good as the STOCK fuel injection with high pressure.

A carb will never compete with the accuracy and flexibility of FI.

I try to reduce carbs. I have about 10 pounds to lose that I gained since totally destroying the racebike. That translates to about a HP lost. Gotta get that belly roll off.

Carbs - no good except in moderation.

Lots of Buells have been converted to choppers, and I note that most of these conversions entail converting to carbs.

I guess we are spoiled by fuel injection now a days, but I have had carbs on my Harleys, and they ran fine.

My current Harley has an S&S Super E on it, the motor is what is known as "Stage 3", and it runs like a train.

I don't know how to find an intake manifold, but I am sure several of our sponsors do. I would start with Cycle Rama.

That being said, when I get back on my Buell, I certainly do not wish it had a carburetor on it, that's for sure.
