So I have found myself in the need of a new Battery for my 05 XB12R. Interstate wants 99 bones for a non sealed cell,Nope don't need acid on my bike.... and HD wants 79. Another place round here called standard wants 59. are there other places to look at for a quality battery? with a good price? Optima perhaps? What do ya'll think?

Harley Davidson AGM sealed gel batteries are the best batteries on the market. Hook up a battery tender lead to your new battery and plug it in when not in use. I've batteries last six years with this set up!

Both of my stock batteries lasted 6+ years - in fact, the Blast's battery is now at 7+ years...and I don't even use a tender. Lucky, probably, but I've been perfectly happy with the HD batteries.

anyone ever used exide motor cycle batteries?

I think the batt on my Buell XB9R is on its last legs. So I might need a repalcement soon.

I personally used exide batteries in my cars. Much better battery then Optima thats for sure.

I got a Deka that had been re-labeled for Big Crank, half the price all the perks.

Original HD for sure. Excellent battery - fair price. Perfect fit - no BS.

OEM for sure, Do NOT get a Universal. The terminals aren't flush with the case and you'll need a 1/4" spacer...DO NOT ask how I know this...

I am not an Exide lover - too many problems with their batteries, you never know what you have until you have it. Very poor QC.

As the official Bad Web Cheapskate, I endorse the HD battery.

That is the ONLY HD product that I buy except the Formula + oil for the primary.

That should tell you all you need to know!

The HD battery is reasonably priced and will fit with no problems.
I am happy with it, replaced the original after 4 years.
I now keep the new one on a battery tender in my garage, it should last even longer.

Add another vote for the HD battery. You are not going to find anything that is significantly better, and any small ammount of money that you might save will not be worth the potential headaches.
