........good thing I happened to stop and hear all the racket last night..... my primary adjustment bolt came loose and rattled almost completely out along with spraying oil all over. What's the torque supposed to be on that thing?

The torque spec on that can get you in trouble. It is a largish bolt and nut but the problem is that the primary cover is that semi crappy granular cast aluminum stuff. It has happened that people have stripped the threads out of the cover trying to attain the recommended torque spec.

I used to just hold the bolt from turning with the Allen wrench and use an open end wrench and snug it down till I thought it felt right and never had a problem with it coming loose.

The oil drain screw will get you in the same kind of trouble it you use the recommended numbers.

And the clutch cable where it screws into the primary cover? That is made of aluminum and easy to break off and the torque spec in the manual is stupid. You never want to to more than just slightly squeeze the O-ring and you can do it by hand.
