We are pleased to announce that the all new Pipercross air filter to fit all Buell XB models is now available from us!

Developed by Pipercross in conjunction with Adrenalin-Moto, and specifically at our request, this new filter will outperform and out filter every other current filter on the market today.

Pipercross filters supply air filters to the majority of British Superbike teams and have 25 years experience working with the top names in the motorsport industry on both 2 and 4 wheels. Their multi layer foam construction has been developed over that time to outperform all paper and cotton guaze filters, carry a lifetime guarantee and cost less than their rivals as well!

You can see full details here: http://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/prods/263.html

Awesome!! Too bad I just dropped $55 on the Harley made filter. Trojan do you need to "recharge" this filter or simply wash it and let it dry?

I have an e-mail in to them finding out the shipping cost of one. The filter is $63.79 using the current exchange rate.

Hi Guys,
Shipping to the US by Air Mail would be around GBP15 (US$29 approx) at todays rates.

The filter can be washed and 'recharged' using Pipercros filter oil, which we can also supply if required.

Nice Job Matt.

Is it oiled, how does it do with light water from rain as I have your fresh air cover?

This flows far better than both the stock and K&N filters, plus it actually filters dirt much better than the K&N. I am not sure about the cost of a K&N in the US, but over here the Pipercross works out at around US$10 cheaper.

The filter is pre-oiled at the factory, and you can re-oil when you come to cleaning and 'recharging' it using either specific Pipercros products or with any foam filter oil such as Torco. They are fine with light rain and water, and are widely used 'open' in classes such as F3 motor racing and on the 'Lotus 7' type kit cars where the filter is exposed to the elements all the time.

Please let me know what you think.

Cheers

This type of filter material looks similar to the Wink Eller High Flow air filter sold by American Sport Bike that I put in both my S1 and S3's airbox. I was so impressed by its near zero air restriction capability as compared to the K&N race filter that I've been hoping to get one for my Firebolt.

But alas, I've been waiting a long time for this to happen, until now.
So, thanks Matt, for bringing this to the market.
This is just what I've been looking for.

Hmm . . . even after the exchange the price of the PX filter is within striking distance of the K&N for those of us in the U.S., but the shipping is a killer. What are the chances of a group buy to divide up the shipping costs?

I bought one from Matt this morning. I'll let you know what I think when it arrives and is installed.

+1 for group orders...I have a K&N now, but I'm always down for a fresh change.

If we can get a few more heads to get on the bandwagon, maybe Matt can throw a couple of them in a large box and have them shipped to a hopefully close location in the states. Then they can be dispersed accordingly. In retrospect, by the time we pay to get them here, then pay additional shipping cost to get them to their final destination, we are apples and apples, no? I suppose this is all subject to our specific region of the states, among other variables.

Not a specific filter, but they may do a generic 'cone type' car filter that would fit. if you can measure the diameter of the filter where it clamps to the throttle body tube I can find out for you.

how does this compare to the UNI foam filter? i'm happy with mine but curious how the multi-layer Pipercross differs... if you have any reports. i also like the ease of cleaning on the UNI since the foam detaches from the inner frame, makes it nice to clean/re-oil without the frame in the way.

nice work bringing this to market!

heh... I've always been wary of K&N. Not sure if I trust a filter you can see straight through. If I can look through it, so can dirt!

Not sure if it is pretty enough to be seen in an open translucid airboxed XB though...I'm kidding -- it looks good, think I might pick one up to go with the ECM/pipe changes coming up for my 12R. Thanks for the heads up!
