So I read the American Bike Exhaust Shoot Out, and have comparison questions between the Special Ops and the Drummer. They appear to be about the same in performance, does any one disagree? Also the Drummer is backed by Kevin's wonderful service, does the Spec. Ops come with the same quality, and warranty? Over all how would you compare the two/ Thanks, Alex |

Both are a great choice, and a wresteled with the decision for a while as well. The Drummer makes slightly less power across the curve, but is a little smoother, more of a "finished product", but costs a bit more. The Spec OPS makes slightly more power, is a little more "raw" in appearance and costs a bit less. I went with the Spec OPS and haven't looked back. Odie still answers my question on things a year after I bought the pipe from him. You won't be disappointed with either, and likely woudln't be able to tell the difference aside from noise and looks. |

Since you have a 9, call Odie and see if the 9 Special Ops muffler still makes a strong resonance at certain RPMs. It was too much for me to deal with, suddenly very loud resonating in that cruising RPM range. However, that was a few years ago, and he may have addressed it with a design change. He is a very good guy and will be straight with you. This resonance does not happen with the Special Ops on 12s. The Drummer does not resonate with the 9 or the 12. |

I only have experience with Special O.P.S. Odie is all about customer service. First class all the way! |

I watched a youtube "show" on the Special OPS and correct me if I am wrong, but it has that back pressure pop when you let off the throttle. Does the drummer do the same thing? It almost sounds like the total exhaust length is to short, so it gets that pop, pop, pop when there is a decrease in pressure in the motor. Thanks for all the input. Alex |

The pop is there with a stock muffler, just not as noticable... |
