Wasn`t 06 the only year with the inverted front end as well Did that make it have a better lean angle by itself, I don`t think anything else was changed in them to obtain this lean angle was there?

yep, it was the only inverted model...it sat a lot higher than the standard rod and didnt have foward controls.....the down side to the large inverted forks, is that a lot of owners had a clunking noise in the front end that was hard to get rid of...the air-box on mine, even rubbed a hole in the coolant line and almost left me stranded...

Like I said in my post, I had 130-135mph "showing on the speedo". I know that motorcycle speedos are inaccurate, and that the inaccuracy increases with the rate of speed. I have pinned a motorcycle speedo and I know that I wasn't going the max speed as shown on the speedo. Just so we are clear.

I said that I was at 130-135mph on the speedo and there was more available and I said that because I knew that from the throttle response and the engine pitch. If I put on an after market system/slip-on, air filter, ECM or used a spy to remap and raise my limiter I think that a cruise at 140-145mph would be achievable, especially if I changed ratios in the drive system to lower pull and add top-end speed.

...but since I don't super-cruise everywhere , drag race every squid, and wheelie every other block I don't worry about such things too much. I'll do most of those mods 'cause I love the bike and it's fun to work on but I ride a Buell 'cause I love the bike and don't want to ride another. Ride what you love, and try to resist the urge to compare gear ratios and top-end -- I know, we are gear heads and it's hard, but try realllllly hard!

Swede, yeah the Street Rod was my favorite, though I wasn't aware of the lean angle. That would definitely work. I hate they discontinued it.... though I'm sure it wouldn't take too much effort to convert your own.

think again. the StreetRod's 32° effective fork rake, compared to the VRod's 38° effective rake might be a little tricky to copy in your garage. the street rod also has a bigger fuel tank and a higher seat.

So Adam, did your question get answered amongst all the BS?

The short Version. The better rider with a solid launch will win.

Anyone know where to get a simple list that shows what yearly changes the vrods have been through?

Lately I have been noticing them more, and it has peaked my interest... Especially as my dream BMW (k1200gt) is getting out of my price comfort zone (damn US$)
