My start button on occasion doesn't work. It has a new battery, the connections are good, the lights do not dim, my odometer and clock do not reset and it will always start but sometimes I have too push it a couple times.Of coarse It never does it at home where I have tools to help diagnose, go figure. Any Ideas?

I have an 05 city X with 7500 miles on it.

same deal with my 05 CityX, it usually only happens after a bit of moisture has gotten in there, i've opened the kill switch/start button casing up and seen corrosion on the contacts. the only thing that has worked so far is cleaning/ drying them. g/l

I have gotten caught in the rain a couple times recently. I didn't realize it could be disassembled. I will take it apart and see what I find.

Ditto on cleaning the contacts in the starter switch housing. Just be careful not to lose any of the small bits and pieces. Also helps to remember what order they go back together.

Ditto on the above and then apply some dielectric grease to the contacts for future prevention.

My 08 XB12R has just started doing the same thing. I just dropped it off at the dealer for that and a multitude of other problems.

Well I just did this today. It was easy. Took about 5 minutes.
