Where do you buy Scothbrite pads and GLITCH what did you use to apply the polish (possibly steel wool would work well) |

Oh no no no...
I just use a couple of rags ...
rub on ... rub off ...
I don't like the look of the steel wool scrubbed pipes. I like the gold with the bluing...
I just keep them nice and clean with the polish. |

You can also use a product called Flitz and it works great.Or Eagle 1 medal polish this one works the best I have seen. |

GLITCH
You said a friend "Mike" used steel wool to polish his. How would I go about this - seems straight forward but want to double check before I make a big mistake. And what product can or should I use when I am trying to polish with the steel wool. |

Ckj,
The original color of the header is actually closer to silver. It is like brushed stainless steel. I polish mine with polishing compound using an old sock. They shine like chrome for a few days. Then, of course, the purple, blue, and gold comes back. If you want them to look a certain color all the time, go with the jethot coating. Go here http://home.austin.rr.com/crumpley/firebolt.htm

I am very impressed. That is how I want mine to look like. So all I need to do is buy a polishing compound made for metal and then go to work? Any certain brand that you would recommend for the polishing compound? |

I used turtle wax polishing compound for mine, but mothers polish work well too. |

Used the Flitz and steel wool - worked great and the pipes looked a wonderful silver for all of one day of riding. But still was fun and I like the look |
