He ratchets it way too far down for my comfort. Since you just got that new pipe I know it's killing you to get back to riding. Today, the Racetech tech who will be working my forks said go for the ride, it won't damage the forks (that was my main concern). A safety concern would be oil on the rotor.. but I'm not seeing that. Don't know if I necessarily entirely agree with his "go ahead and ride" comment... but I'm gonna! BTW... I'm one lucky guy... my seals lasted 50,000 miles!! And I know I've come down from some wheelies a little more clumsily than I would've liked. Oh... another BTW... the tech said that he thinks fork manufacturers are now loosening up the tolerances on bushings/seals/etc. to provide less stiction and better compliance (and shorter seal life). His comment wasn't reserved for only Buells. Steve   Steveford Posted on Wednesday, September 03, 2003 - 06:13 pm:        This is too late for you fellows but it's been my experience that fork seals usually leak because they've ingested a particle of road crud. The inverted forks don't lend themselves to traditional rubber gaiters but you can get neoprene ones that wrap around the slider/tube and seal with velcro. If you coat the covered area with grease it'll keep the tubes from rusting. Works on my Buells even if it does look a little odd.   Tonyxb9r Posted on Wednesday, September 03, 2003 - 09:32 pm:        I was hit by a pick up truck last week. He had backed into me at a stop light. The only thing that happened was my fork dust caps came out. The shop said they are still good to go. That does really suck though for you if that just happened.
