I'm thinking about the Ventura pack system for my TT and they do make a system for it, but from the pictures it looks kind of funky compared to the Ss system. My bike has the number plates removed and passenger pegs added, so I'm wondering if there is any difference between the two bikes as far as what the hook ups would be on the back of the bike. They show they have a system for the 2006 Ss but not the 07, was the bike changed some way in 07? I would call and ask them the same questions, but I have a feeling they wouldn't have a clue to what I was talking about.

I just purchased an 2007 XB12STT and went through the same run around regarding a Buell XB12SS Touring Seat. Basically nobody would confirm that a SS touring seat would fit a STT even though the same catalog has a Urban Assault Seat ( stock on STT ) that is list for the 2006 XB12SS or later. So I finally found a dealer that had one in stock and went down and installed it in the parking lot before I purchased it.

A couple days later I was going through the ownners manual and I noticed that a depiction of the underside of the seat for the SS and STT was the same.

So my guess is that it basically boils down to this, the XB12STT was new for 2007 so most of the catalogs have parts for 2006 XB12SS and later but they have not gone back ( at least Buell has not ) and updated the catalog to indicated 2006 XB12SS and later or 2007 XB12STT or later.

The only other thought ( regarding the SS touring and sport seats ) was that Buell did not want the liability of selling them to STT owners because of the missing passenger foot pegs.

In the end to be safe I would suggest that you make sure there is no "restocking" fee on the part that you want to buy. You might even want to contact the manufacturer and if they can't confirm offer to have them send you the item at cost and you will in turn confirm that it fits.

Just to point it out... the "passenger kit" for the STT is the standard SS seat, plus passenger pegs and the brackets for them
If still in doubt, in this thread there's a pic of an STT with the SS "touring" seat

The SS and STT are almost the same bike. Biggest difference between the 2 is suspension and a few cosmedic bits and bobs. Here is my SSTT : )

How do you like the touring seat? Is it lower or does it change your sitting position? (how tall are you?)

I did not notice the touring seat being that much lower I think because the touring seat is firmer and the solo assault seat is so soft that it gives significantly under weight, I'm 5'11" @ 245lbs and a 32" inseam. I recall the XB9SX having a similar soft seat and didn't care for that mushy feeling on the bike. I have the suspension set up accordingly as per the users manual.

My new 2007 XB12STT (only 121 miles). . .

Cool, I think the other reason they don't market it the other way is because you can buy the Ss seat without the footpegs. Probably afraid some moron will then ride someone 2 up and sue them. Not like you can't with the solo seat...who really uses them straps !
