Due to some carpal tunnel issues, I had to say goodbye to the 2007 XB12R. I loved everything about it but riding it in the real world. If only every day was a track day...

I went to the dealership hoping to trade for a STT, but they had a leftover 2007 XB9SX, and I went for it. VERY interesting differences! First and foremost, my ass and wrists thank me. Much more comfortable. Interestingly enough, the engine characteristics make for a totally different riding experience. There is quite a bit more vibration in the lower rpms (is this normal?!), but smooths out around 3k. At around 4-4.5k, there is a noticeable jump in power. The 12 pulled a lot harder down low, and was smoother all the way through, but wasn't as happy to jump into the higher revs. It's fun! I'm excited to try the City X out on the track this year.

All in all, I'm very pleased with my decision! Hale's HD in Mansfield OH is fantastic, I highly recommend it to anyone close to central OH.

Buell #2 in two years, there are worse things in life.

Congrats!
Vibrations are normal at lower rpms, once it gets a few miles on it, they'll become less noticeable.

I have always thought the 9s were nicer bikes to ride (have had 2) - the 12s are more of a brute, especially in the lower rpms. I still have a 12 though - just can't give up that extra power!

I have an 06 SX and notice the vibes below 3000 RPM as well. but has gotten less with mileage like Superfly says. I love the revs and it never struck me as down in power. I can still pull 2nd gear power wheelies and it still amazes me how well it works as a whole package.

Congrats!

Throw a race ECM and pipe on there and you will be in business..

Love the way my 9 winds...... I've heard drummer will sort it a little better down low? I have race pipe maybe one day I will give it a try..

I wish they would do a short stroke/ big bore 12 similar to the XBRR..

Good Luck, hope the Ergo's resolve your issues..
