I am excited to tell everyone that I am coming back to the fold. I used to have an 04 XB12 'bolt with all the goodies but a proper steering stabilizer. I ended up with a tank slapper after hitting some less than stellar road patches. I was down for a couple months and saw all my goody parts on the bike go away with the insurance guy before I could replace them with the stock parts like the Micron exhaust and aluminum and billet items. So here I am again on the BadWeB, I got the go ahead from the wife. She is really excited too. What triggered all of this is the fact that I am overseas in the Middle East and on the base there is a Military AutoSource office where military folk can order cars and bikes tax free and no destination charge. Certain manufacturers set aside a number of vehicles to go to Autosource and when they are ordered they are shipped to the dealer of your choice. I don't know exactly how much I am saving but it really isn't why I am buying. I just hafta get back on. It's been about 2 years 10 months since I went down but wanted to get back on as soon as I was done with burn unit treatments on my backside. We have a car payment that is going to be done before I get back and I have a small loan that's getting paid off so the wife said "Let's do it." I don't like passengers and wish she would get a blast! or something but I will have to work on that with her. She has a GF that rides a Harley so ...... Once I get some free time I am going to look into Baton Rouge Buell and compare them to the AutoSource thing. I need to find out more about this. I spoke just briefly to the civilian guy that does the AutoSource and he said there isn't much discount for Harleys and subsequently Buell b/c they are all backed up at the factory and they sell a ship ton of 'em through this program so for some reason the benefit isn't a drastic as it is with the cage manufacturers. I have decided it will be just like the old one; Black (this time Red wheels, last one they were natural), doing a Micron system, CF airbox from American Sport Bike, seat, chrome the heel guards, peel the stickers. I have a buddy that owns Gulf Coast Powdercoating so you know the deal there, freebies!!! This time though, like I said, a better steering damper. I will not trash the old ones manufacturer but there is probably a reason it as the cheape$t one at American Sport Bike. Money will not be an obstacle when it come to that. I have a few questions though. My last one had Revolution Performance jugs and kit, Micron exh, and a race ECM that was "Flashed" but it ran like crap often. The previous owner also sold me the Techno Research software and sent the key but I never messed around with it. If I get the CF American Sport Bike ram air box/kit, Micron exh, and a "Race" ECM, do I need to get a key for my ECM and get it flashed? Will the "Race" ECM suffice and the map match up well with the mods I want to do? Also BTW, to the Canadian F*(K that I sold the TR software too for CHEEEEAAAP!, Your kind is the lowest on earth and what you did is equivilant to stealing. I sent you the software and cable all you needed was the key. I know we only agreed on very little money and I basically let it go for nothing but that didn't mean that you could just shaft me on the payment. I am glad not all Canadians aren't like you. You are a POS in the biggest way and you can suck mine. If I were to ever meet up with you I would take the cost of a new TR out of your hide you sh!+ bag. I want my software and cable back or my $40.oo or whatever it was that we agreed on. Back to topic, I am really excited to get an 08 XB12 'bolt guys. Just got back from the AutoSource office. $9,2XX shipped to the HD/BMC Dealer nearest my house on the Gulf Coast Mississippi. Anyone hear of a better deal out there? Any Buell dealers in Panhandle FLA? | ||

That is a little cheaper than I got my 08 12R in south east Ga. OTD. The base price was cheaper, but when you add back in TTT it was more. I'd say if you were to find a better deal on a 08 it would only be marginally better, as in not enough to argue about. I'd go for it. | ||

Well I did say, "I am glad not all Canadians aren't like you." I did not mean the insult as a broad generalization of Canadians at all and I'm sorry you read it that way. Maybe I should have wrote it different so there would be a clear and definate understanding like, "the F*(ker from Nova Scotia" or something. I like Canadians in general and do not want to offend any of you. To be honest I was just trying to be descriptive in my "slag" in hopes this guy would read this post and remember what he did. He might have otherwise read it and thought I may have been talking about some crook from the States. So there was no NEED to bring nationality into it but I WANTED to to make it a little more clear to him just in case he wasn't some troll on the For Sale section looking to rip off BadWeB'ers. Honestly, I forgot his screen name. Sorry for any hard feelings I caused and will try to be more descriptive as to who I'm talking about next time. The British fella that is the rep for Military AutoSource said they order the vehicles about a month before the troop rolls back to the real world so I may end up with an '09. Pensacola Buell/HD has a red 07 XB9R theyre trying to push out the door. A FL. resident could pick it up for a little less than $9500 out the door which leads me to believe that you found a better deal. DO IT!!!!! | ||

Where I am currently at in the Mid East is a somewhat Western influenced country, Bahrain. I have had a chance to party with alot of different folks. Canadians, Brits, a real special lady from Scotland, Arabs .....Doesn't matter if you wanna drink with me, your my friend, if you got my back I got yours. Canada and the U.S. are doing great things together out here in the world. You ever seen an Englishman drink his own piss for a ride in a Humvee? I think he thought it was worth it. If you get the race ECM, and some fellow 'R' guys can hopefully back me on this, you will not need a key. I have a key, but only because I have my stock ECM remapped. Key is required when someone, Al in my case sends you a custom map and you dump it into the ECM, via the TR software which I have as well. I understand you do not have this software anymore (or the $$ for it, bummer) SO you shouldnt need a key. Pretty much Plug and play. Race ECM install and a tps reset and you should better ready for more wheelies! Come home safe and Ride safe. Someone please let me know if I am wrong. | ||

We'll keep Shatner (love Boston Legal) but Celine is a no-go. I had thought about contacting Al Lighton but heck, I don't even have a bike yet! I was going to ask him when I went to buy his product. I am sure he could work his magic in one way or another. I was thinking about getting a loan through Navy Federal Credit Union for a little more so I could get the CF Ram Air and intake kit, catch can, Micron Exh., Race ECM or mapped ECM. Oh yeah, helmet and gloves. My old ones were....uh.....compromised. | ||

With the DDFI 3 and the use of a crank triggered timing it looks as though it eliminates the need to do anything with the ECM, is this correct? Should I put an RSS on it too??? JUST KIDDING Let's not go there.LOL (Message edited by Cudajohn on April 11, 2008) | ||

From what I understand the ecm can be adjusted using the new ecmspy version 2. I can answer your questions but we have to do via pm's. Chris | ||

I think I read somewhere that Al from american sport bike was going to do another exhaust shoot out with the 08's sometime in the not to far future. I was going to wait to see the results before I changed anything over. I don't think I know enough to use the ecmspy and would probably do more bad than good. |
