So i got my bike out today (first time since late October) and i noticed some popping on deceleration, and some hiccups when i pulled the clutch while approaching a couple stop signs. I ride a 9r and i have a Race ECM and a D&D exhaust. I think i need a TPS reset but i did not have these issues last year. Could it be something else?

I had the same issue on my first outing this year. After running around town a bit and a stop for lunch, the problem seemed to go away. I just guessed it was funky gas from sitting all winter?

The air has changed, and the bike needs a little time to adjust the AFV. Plus, there may be, as mentioned, some skunky fuel.

I'd say ride it for a couple of days, and see how it does.

I had it hooked up on a 12v trickle charger all winter, so i'm pretty sure the voltage should be good. I ran most of the old gas out and used Stabil in October and filled up fresh today with 92 octane. Hopefully after i burn out the rest of the tank it will improve.

Make sure to ride steady in the AFV reset range - I want to say 3000-3500rpm for what, five or ten minutes if possible? That lets the ECM "re-learn" for the new weather, etc. Don't quote me on the rpms or the time, though..I ride tubers with choke knobs ;)

Anyone in MN that has experience doing a TPS reset with a XB9r and would like to help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
