Anyone have ideas for upgrading or modifying the originals? I'm tired of my bike having Shrek ears. |

Nice, those are pretty damn neat. I like that it allows for 360 degrees of visibility. (Message edited by Speedfreaks101 on March 21, 2008) |

How did you go about making these? |

Simple, I just built a housing, mounted a single filament bulb in them and routed a wire through the clip-on bar. I used a lathe and drill. The main housing is aluminum and the lens is polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is pretty tough stuff, so accidentally breaking them would be difficult. Now all I have to do is make a blanking plate for the old holes. Simple? Integrating systems is simple to me. This seems out of my league. |

Impressive Rain, I've gotta say it is probably a little out of my league too. I'm considering taking the spacer out of my front signal lights and shortening them to look like the rear. What I would really like is some smaller blinkers that are similar in curvature to the headlights and have little to no stem. Someone out here surely has found a creative and affordable bolt on solution that doesn't look like an alien's eyeball. |

Check out these. Unfortunately, with the exchange rate the way it is right now they're a bit pricy. http://www.oberon-performance.co.uk/acatalog/LED-I ndicator-Bar-End-Weights.html |

Those are sweet, but we could probably have Rain make some up and sell them to us. |

I'll have to say, I can make some more. But right now I'm not sure about price, they will only work for the Firebolt clip-ons, and because my lathe is older then maybe everyone on this thread put together it will take a little time. I could probably come up with a set for the Lightnings and other bikes but they will need a little bit of a design change. I also built mine to fit the traction grips, so the fitment on the other grips might be a little different. Maybe I could make a spacer set up. But that matters only for the throttle side so it doesn't rub and cause the throttle to stick. I'll make another set, and figure out what it would cost. I'll let everyone know and we can go from there. |

I used the original Signal Lights and cut them down about 3/4 inch. Very easy, cost $0. and needed only a stanly knife. I can send you pics if you like. Now i use flush mount LED Signal Lights . |

I have a set just like those but they only have two wires. Check your local import store and ask for some "mini stalk signals." I think they were about $15/pair. |

Yes. See the link above to my KV thread for them. This last fall I ran across them in a dual filament /running light version. I'd only seen them before as regular turn signals. There's a link to the ebay seller in the thread. |

I had these
They looked alright and it was cool that they have 5 LEDs in the front that light up as well. Unfortunately, the shafts are cheap brittle plastic. One came loose and while tightening it the shaft craked I now have the aluminum arrow ones. Normal ones in the front and dual circuit in the back that are tied into the brake light circuit. There's a youtube vid of them that a guy made. If it's still there this link should take you there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWt4HLymo00 |

I probably should add them to the store, they're pretty cool too. Al" So... there ya go

Hey yall, I have added some LED's to my XB9R and they seem to work great; Although they blink incredibly quick, I didnt do the LED module upgrade to make them blink at the normal rate. The ones I used are really for a Yamaha, but they work fine. I did have to do some wire splicing and hole enlarging to make them work but they look 100% better then the stock ones. It was really like they were made to fit the XBR, if you look at the placement of your signals now, there is that little indent, well these fit perfectly into the indent and makes it look like that indent is for a reason. If you look at this site you can order them and see what they look like. Horrible picture though. The company is from the UK i believe so you might have to order them, unless your local stores stocks this company. http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=& item=MRX_LFH1_G&tier2=14 They are flush mount, they only stick out the width of the LED's inside. If I was near my bike I would take a picture and show you what they look like on the bike. They are sweet. |

If you switch to led then you need to either get a load equalizer or a led flasher relay they have one at americansportbike.com for $20 I bought a set of the 1125r mirrors which have the led signals on them and they bolt up just fine.
