I am in search of pics of the paint on an '03 Lightning that was a special order type deal I guess. It is supposedly red with lightning bolts in it or something to that affect. I found a bike with this but have yet to see it and was wandering if anyone had seen one like it. Thanks.

I went and checked it out but it was in a barn with a foot of ice/snow blocking the door. The weather is supposed to break next week and I am going to ride it and check it out better. It's a clean bike with the race kit and 4600 miles...whats the price????

well, the price is whatever he wants for it or you're willing to pay. to give you a point of reference, last year around this time i bought my bone stock 2005 xb9 cityx with 3300 miles on it for $5995. a year later and a 2 year older bike, hard to say, but even with add ons i'd say $4500-5000 would be a fair price.

Kevin, you do realize that Bill is selling the Voltage plastic set, not the bike...right?

Sorry about the mixup but I am looking at buying the same bike and hadn't seen one yet and was looking for pics....I wasn't looking to buy his. As for the paint...I am here nor there about it...can't make up my mind but I can always paint it, or would that be bad? I love the bike but I like the paint...does that make sense? I am going to shoot for $4500 and see where it gets me. Thanks.

you can paint it but you'd be better off selling the voltage stuff then buy the color you want. that voltage body kit isn't available anymore, so it could fetch a few bucks if someone had to have it.

Don't paint the Voltage kit! There are only two brand new ones in the country right now, and only two used ones for sale (mine, and a good friend from CT) that I know of. You can pick up a set of used plastics and paint them for less than you'll be able to sell the Voltage plastics for most likely. And, the Voltage looks much better in person than in pics, trust me...

Now, someone buy mine!

I did see it in person and it's pretty sharp. I will end up getting other plastics and doing what I want with those but thanks for the replies. It is good to hear that not every Joe Shmoe has the Voltage kit so it is different.

No, but I do need to mow the back yard, the weeds are about a foot tall.
