I ordered up my race ecm, Jardine Alum, Jardine QMI, and K&N filter. My bike is going in fir it 10,000 mile service this Saturday the 22nd. Once I get all my goods the following week I'll install it all and take my bike in again that weekend for the TPS reset. They told me they do it for free since I am bringing it in the weekend before for the service.
I think Im gonna ride the the Jardine QMI in my pocket wrapped in the original packing or in my bag, so when I do eventually get pulled for noise pollution, I'll pull it out and say."What are the chances of this, I just bought this and was on my way home to install it?" My guess is that it should at least work once...
So just a quick question about the install of performance stuff. After I install is it fine to ride to the shop and have the TPS reset? Or will I have to expect any problems? Or am I being a jackass and over worried about it and should just drive?...
YEAH WHOOOO!! Im Stoked...

It should get you there with out worrying. It will need to be done in a reasonable amount of miles though. Mine started out running and sounding fine, but gradually went to running like poop. Did TPS and it was great!

About how many miles? The shop is about 15 miles away or 20 minutes.

I was looking into getting an ECM. Would it be better to buy the race or just have it remapped? What does reseting the TPS consist of? And could I trust the Harley guys who don't like Buells to do this?

And Zoe...Are they }that bad around your parts with noise pollution?

Theres pros and cons I guess for a remap and to buy a race ecm. To remap it helps to be computer savvy and the other way is much easier. But a remap allows you to do more precise tuning. Im not quite that hard core. No plans on superbike racing any time soon for me. The TPS is a simple adjustment to do for the Harley/Buell dealer. I just so happen to have a fellow Buell junkie working on my bike at our Harley shop. It takes like half an hour. I'll trust them till they do me wrong, but so far they have been really good to me.
As far as the noise goes. The State Troopers here who ride bikes carry db monitors to measures just how loud your bike is. Im sure its troopers in cars too. Anyhow, I understand people get tickets all the time here...its dumb I know, but its probably more of a problem here cause there are so many bike owners here.
I for one have NEVER seen someone get checked, but one reliable source (older biker buddy) told me it does happen more than not. Guess we'll see huh? I'll take my chances.."Say Hello To My Little Friend!!"
