Sold my 06 XB9S-X here a couple months ago, and I'm ready to buy a ULY!

Trying to research the 08's here, and decide if it's worth the extra $$ for a new one. So far, I'm gonna say NO- since I found an 06 with 1700mls for $7800 (original owner, never dropped, bone stock, no accessories). It's also well within pick-up distance for me...

Now the PROBLEM is: I just found a 2008 XB12SS (long) for $8500 at a dealership (has 98mls, it's "new").

Isn't that a helluva good price for that?? I really miss my Lightning, and vowed to get another one "someday". I was kinda big on the XB9 at 6ft-2in but I'd imagine I'd be more at home on the xb12ss...??

So: which bike would be the better "deal"?

which one do you like better? what will be the "out the door" price on the SS? were it me i'd likely go after the SS, but that's just cuz i'm not much of a uly fan. a uly fan will say just the opposite, which takes me back to the first question--which one do you like better?

I say go for the Lightning. Has significant upgrades on the '08 engine- higher rev limit, oil pump, no TPS re-set, crank position sensor instead of cam sensor- and comes with a warranty. The engine differences are what sold me on an '08 TT instead of an '07 that was on the floor.
