anyone ever done it? do the contours of the saddlebags work?

there's some cheapo firebolt bags avail...but i have no idea how they'd work on my chopped tail lightning...

Not sure about how the Firebolts bags may differ from the Lightning, but the chopped tail won't matter if you are using the Lightning bags.

XB9er, so you're using the firebolt bags? is the contour on the inside face of the bags funny against the tail of the lightning? are there gaps? is it one strap under and one strap over the seat?

ohhh firebolt bags. Sorry I had regular lightning bags, but Toona put a R tail on his S and he has firebolt bags. I will go down and see how they fit on my bike. Check this thread later tonight.

I put the firebolt bags on my bike. They looked nice, but sagged, even with the straps as tight. The sag is not bad but doesnt look right. as far as the fit you couldnt go wrong. They would work if you cut the straps and sowed them together.
